Have you been to any Israeli beaches? The most well known are of course the Tel Aviv Beaches…which we absolutely love but…one of our favorites by far is Dor HaBonim Beach in northern Israel.

We had another early morning to capture the amazing landscapes before anyone else arrived (except the fisherman as they are practically a quintessential part of the scenery). We were a bit bummed when we woke up and realized it was pretty cloudy (something pretty unusual in Israel 🌞) but the clouds ended up being one of the most epic aspects of the photos.

Off the beaten path, strewn with fisherman and an abundance of seashells, and pretty quiet…this beach is definitely a gem. We ended up doing a short little hike between Dor Beach and Habonim Beach, about 3 km and only came across a few people. Of course, if it had been mid-day instead of early morning there would have been far far more, but still nothing compared to the beaches in the city.

It definitely took all of our power to resist jumping into the clear water, dress, sunhat, and, all. But it really was a bit too chilly for an early morning swim. The waters haven’t quite reached their cool summer temperatures and were still icy winter cold. I guess all the more reason to go back again 😉 but for now you can watch the video below.
Super cool location, amazing clouds, and beautiful sunrise. Didn’t think it could get any cooler did you? Well wait for it…this is actually the site of an ancient city and an ancient harbor dating back some 3500 years ago! The views are BREATHTAKING and they have found endless artifacts in this area including remains of ancient Egyptian vessels, anchors, and mosaic floors. 💙 For more superinterestingg facts about the park check out the link here.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Opposite the photo above is the Mediterranean sea and more rock formations (including a tall mushroom kind of rock that you can jump from into the sea). 🌊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In short… it’s an overall amazing spot to visit for both the beach lover and the history buff AND A MUST VISIT for tourists and locals in Israel.

A fairy tale. A fairy tale of flowers and blue skies and rolling green hills and floral dresses located in the North of Israel. Like the story books that our parents read us when we were little. Skipping through the little dirt paths on the side of the mountains, listening to the babbling stream below, smelling the enveloping fragrance of the lupines swaying in the wind. Almost too beautiful to be true…But it is reality. At least reality for a few months. And maybe that’s what makes it so magical.
For this photo shoot/hike we designed these dresses specifically to match this scenery. Both dresses are the same cut just a different print.

During the majority of the year this area (and most of Israel) is dry and brown and the river is nearly empty, but after the winter rains, suddenly out of nowhere, this wonderland appears. The rains turn the grass green, the flowers appear, the river fills and is flowing. But after maybe a maximum of two months, it all disappears. The heat comes, the flowers slowly die, the water diminishes, and the green hills start to slowly turn their deserty brown.
Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s beautiful in that season as well. But the magical and short lived appearance of this fairyland of purple and blue flowers on saturated green hills is a sight not to be missed.

We got there early in the morning. The flowers were in their prime bloom and so we knew it would be busy. When we arrived there were maybe 10 other people ready to do the circular 8 km hike. There were two routes we could take, one being a little bit more difficult with a steep incline at the end. Wanting to avoid the crowds (and also for a little challenge) we went the more difficult way.
We had the baby cows, swaying lupines, and babbling stream practically all to ourselves… so it was worth the early rising (it always is). If it was a little warmer we could have jumped off the waterfall and gone for a swim. The temptation was real, but realistically who wants to finish 5 km of a hike in a wet dress? So we would just have to save that for next time.

Halfway through the hike, around 11:00, we started to see the crowds. Families, groups, individuals, they all swarmed the skinny little paths. Literally THOUSANDS of people descended upon “our” trail.
Grateful for our early arrival, we managed to only see the people at the end of our journey. The parking lot next to the village which had about four cars including our own in the morning, now was filled with hundreds.
So tips for this specific hike would be to GO REALLY EARLY! Israel is a small country filled with avid hikers and families who love to go on trips so the earlier the better. Also the flowers appear in the winter/early spring. We went at the beginning of March and as you can see in the pictures/video it was AMAZING!!
Enjoy more views of the hike and our handmade dresses in the video below 💙

Haifa, Israel
Haifa is beautiful with its terraced landscapes, a city built thousands of years ago on the slopes of Mount Carmel and bordering the Mediterranean Sea. There is a mix of ancient stones, modern skyscrapers, and lush mountain foliage, sparkling beaches, soft breezes, and breathtaking views.
Our experience in Haifa was certainly not what we had expected. To make a long story short, we got lost in Haifa. We took a wrong turn. Our journey led us on the back roads, far out of the way of what we planned to see. But going this unexpected way, we found wide, tiered, whimsical stairwells with overhanging, emerald green trees .We found peacocks painted on an old stone wall in shades of purple and green and framed in gold, and lavender and blue flowers spilling into the streets. We would have never seen any of these treasures if we hadn’t gotten lost and then lost again. So I guess in life we are never really lost. Maybe we’re just taking a longer way to see what we were supposed to see, but never would have unless life made us.
Life is beautiful.
